The Quiet of the Storm

These consecutive winter storms are trying to teach us something.

Hold onto the quiet.

It has been a great year for inner reflection and strength building.

A year of making bread and doing puzzles and hanging with our kids.

As the virus loosens its grip on us, we need to hold onto the silence.

Before we crawl into the cannon and get shot out at top speed, have one more moment of muted bliss. One more day of isolation. One more day where the pressures can’t reach us.

Make the blueberry muffins. Go to your quiet space. Breathe in and appreciate the isolation.

It’s almost over, and these brief revisits to the quiet will teach us how to hold onto it.
